Darren Aronofsky returns with his follow up to The Wrestler, and... um... Did I just see Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis making out in that trailer? (*swoon*)
Sorry about that. I just got overwhelmed for a second there. Anyway, where was I? Oh, right. After scoring a critical and commercial hit (not to mention resurrecting Mickey Rourke's career) with The Wrestler, director Darren Aronofsky has turned his attention to the world of ballet with Black Swan. Aronofsky has stated that he wanted to make a film that would outdo Dario Argento's classic mindbender Suspira, and if this trailer is any indication, it looks like he may have succeeded.
The film tells the story of Nina (Natalie Portman), a young woman whose life is completely consumed by dreams of being a star ballerina. This obsession is enabled by her mother, Erica (Barbara Hershey), herself a retired ballet star. Nina is finally noticed by artistic director Thomas Leroy (Vincent Cassel), and she believes her dreams are all about to come true. That's when Lily (Mila Kunis) shows up and catches Leroy's eye as well, and Nina suddenly sees her dreams of stardom suddenly slipping through her fingers. Then things get weird...
