New Aardman trailer makes Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides look like Cutthroat Island, and makes Cutthroat Island look like an actual Somali pirate. So you know it's good!
How delightful. Get your Aardman checklist ready...
- Wonderful old-school stop-motion animation?
- Expressive yet simplistic characters?
- Whimsy?
- Peerless visual gags?
- Risque humour?
Check, check, check, checkedy check and CHECK. Yes, The Pirates! is already looking like being a damn sight better than Jack Sparrow's last adventure - On Stranger Tides could barely string a yo and a ho together, whereas this looks like being more fun than a barrel of rum. My only concern is with how it'll be marketed at home and abroad. That clunky title has already caused me problems: searching IMDb for 'The Pirates!' doesn't exactly yield instant results.

But really, we're sure The Parson's Pirates is BRILLIANT.
