A Christmas Carol? In September? You couldn't make it up! Etc.
Yahoo Movies have the exclusive new trailer for Robert Zemeckis' take on A Christmas Carol. The movie, a new take on the classic Dickens story, stars Jim Carrey as Scrooge and all three ghosts of Christmases past, present and future.
This is Zemeckis' latest CG movie, having already investigated motion-capture techniques in Beowulf (impressive, if only for Angelina Jolie's digital breasts) and The Polar Express (a childrens movie so terrifying it should come with a dreamcatcher). You can tell its going to be in 3D by the way the movie titles jump from the screen and go in front and behind things, as if by some sort of digital witchcraft.
I hope I'm not alone in thinking this looks terrible, like a poorly animated videogame cut-scene. This neither transports me to a magical place far, far away or makes me want to rub my eyes in disbelief. It just makes me want to push X.
