Are you a fan of post-apocalyptic road movies, religious allegories and desaturated palletes? This trailer for The Book Of Eli might just tick all your boxes and more.
Denzel Washington is a damn reliable actor, I can pretty much guarantee myself that I'll enjoy a film of his. And The Hughes Bros get lifetime passes for "Dead Presidents".
Throw in Mental Gary Oldman and I'm there. Oh sure it's not as worthy and oscar sniffy as The Road, but looks like grim-faced fun.
Mental Oldman...I bought Leon on bluray at the weekend, I'd forgotten how much I like that film.
"EEEEEEVERYONNNNNNNEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!"
"No women, no kids"
"I like these calm little moments before the storm..."
It's weird to think that, in the nineties, Gary Old Man played a villain in practically every movie he was in. When he started barking like a loon in this, I was all like, "Drexl's back! Hooray!"
Not sure I buy Denzel as a kick-ass action hero, but I gotta agree with Goatboy - watching Oldman do his ker-azy gang boss bit will be worth the price of the ticket alone.
It's the Hughes Bros directing, so that's a plus point.
And I like Denzil Washington and is that Gary Oldman doing his "mental baddie" bit? haven't seen him do that for a long time.
I'll watch, enjoy & forget.
