Wow. Awesome trailer for Michael Winterbottom's The Killer Inside Me

I dunno, Goaty. We've seen the worst in this reel, anyway, surely. And since this is written by a supposedly well-respected author (Good job on giving us lots of details on him, Ali.) I have high hopes. Let's not forget movies like Old Country For Old Men that were based on novels (if you'll pardon my half-assed half-generalization, hah.).

I did make that argument and said it wasn't for everybody.
Same as this film, may be justified or may just be gratuitous woman beating, can't say in the context of that clip.

Just saying it's not for me, not calling for it to be banned or not enjoyed by anybody else.
It don't float Goaty's boat so I won't watch.

Antichrist has self-mutilation from the female character, removing her clitoris in not-needed close-up to punish herself for enjoying sex instead of watching for her child.
She beats the tar out of Man but she's the instigator.

Watching a bloke towering over a woman and punching the shit out of her repeatedly isn't my thing, but others may enjoy.

Oh I don't think it'll be especially pleasant viewing at all, very difficult by the looks of that scene with Affleck Jr whaling on Jessica Alba. Certainly doesn't look like the brutalising of women will be glamorised anyway. (Worth pointing out this isn't a trailer as such, but a 'sales reel' - a summation of the movie for potential distributors).

Looks like challenging viewing. Didn't you make a similar argument about Antichrist, Goaty? That had female mutilation in it and worse.

And Casey Affleck is officially on my list of awesome since Gone Baby Gone, ditto big brother Ben.

It looks like it will be difficult viewing, but i'm certainly intrigued.

On a lighter note, didn't recognise Kate Hudson at all - has she been eating food?
Wonder what Ben and Casey's relationship is like. I'd love to think it's how my little brother would be with me - lots of "aaaahhhhh, look who's in proper movies. How's Daredevil 2 coming along bro? managed to get Kevin Smith to write any films for you to be in?? baaaaaahahah" &etc.

I actually thought it looked like a decent movie. Tough viewing, sure, but engrossing. Know what you mean about the sex though: "In a bid to appeal to all tastes, let's include some gritty drama, some sociopath psychology and the film's sum total number of shots where Jessica Alba appears partially nude"

Can't compare with 9 Songs, surely? That was just a boring porn experiment - at least this actually seems to have a plot.

Nope, brutalisation of women doesn't do it for
me I'm afraid. And looks like Winterbottom is using sex to bolster an otherwise dull movie. Anybody here seen 9 Songs? And I don't mean just the clips of the fucking on porn sites? Terrible
movie. S&M I get, Affleck standing over a woman repeatedly punching her in the face is not cool. Turned it off at that point.
