Movie News | Chris | 3rd September 2010
The creative team behind the Paranormal Activity franchise is bringing the found footage gimmick to the Amazon with their next project. They just better pray they don't run into the kids from Cannibal Holocaust along the way.

Doug Liman looking to kill at the box-office with his next film
Movie News | Chris | 24th August 2010
Director Doug Liman may be punching the clock for Warner Bros as he is in the running to helm an adaptation of the ridiculously titled Japanese time-travel thriller, All You Need Is Kill. The only catch is that they've set a firm start date, and now it's a race against time to get the film under way. Relax. I think that's all the time related gags I can think of at the moment.

Shutter Island
Movie Review | Chris | 11th March 2010
Shutter Island, the latest from director Martin Scorsese, is far from perfect, but it is an excellent showcase for a master filmmaker who is still working at the top of his game, despite being in the twilight of his career.

Where The Wild Things Are
Movie Review | Chris | 10th December 2009
With Where the Wild Things Are, Spike Jonze not only solidifies his reputation as a great director (as if there were any doubt), but he also demonstrates an uncanny understanding of precisely what it's like to be a kid. With this gorgeous and touching adaptation of the beloved children's book by author Maurice Sendak, Jonze and screenwriter David Eggers have managed to capture the essence of childhood; all the confusion, fear, pain, anger, loneliness, and above all the joy of being a kid are evident throughout.

The Informant!
Movie Review | Chris | 20th November 2009
The Informant! is the best Coen Brothers movie not actually directed by the Coen Brothers. Insanely prolific director Steven Soderbergh has managed to capture the distinct Coen vibe - mainly the sardonic sense of humor and dry wit - while making it completely his own. The final result is an engaging, intricate movie about a whistleblower that manages to double as a send-up of movies about whistleblowers.
