American football is a sport we don't get much information on over here; as Alan Partridge said, it's just futuristic rugby, right? But it's okay that the rules are overly confusing and we don't play it at school, because there is little to no gridiron action included in American football movie The Blind Side.

With Kick-Ass's Hit-Girl and Jaden Smith's Karate Kid out later this year, hard-ass midgets are all the rage. I've got my nephew some nunchucks for his fifth birthday, y'know, start him off early.

It's a big ask, translating one of the most popular books of the late 20th Century onto the big screen. Especially when said book is full of other worldly imagery and is, for the most part, narrated by a dead 14 year-old.

There are three irrefutable things in life; death, taxes and the fact that ninjas are cool. Ninjas speeding around Europe on a one-man vendetta to take down all other ninjas armed only with a knife and Hollyoaks hair? Ice cold, friends, ice cold. Remember before pre-printed boarding passes, when you'd be queuing at check-in for 30 minutes, manically searching for your passport and tickets, only to have someone roll past you with their top-of-the line Samsonite holdall with dedicated laptop and "liquids" compartments, sail through first class check-in and security and be in their high-end Hertz hire cars before you even had your already dog-eared boarding pass in your sweaty little hand? Don't be too quick to envy their flashy suits and graphite members cards.

Sherlock Holmes is one of Britain's most enduring literary figures, thanks in no small part to previous adaptations of Arthur Conan Doyle's books on the big and small screens. Whilst it's not known whether anyone has actually read a Holmes book in the last few decades, everyone has a clear mental picture of the detective in question and can throw out a few misquotes when the situation calls for it.

Let’s say for argument's sake that Paul Abbott’s 2003 mini-series State Of Play wasn’t watched by everyone, and that many people will be coming to Kevin Macdonald’s complex thriller completely cold, with no prior knowledge. Sitting comfortably? Let’s begin.
Cal McAfferey (Crowe), an old school investigative journalist for the...

Fast And Furious is, confusingly, the fourth movie in the Fast And The Furious saga; a franchise ripe for sequels, bursting at the seams as it is with plotlines, enduring characters and witty, beautifully-written screenplays. Ahem.
Vin Diesel and Paul Walker both return to their original roles, having popped in and out of the...
