Ali is away this weekend so it's been left up to me to collate the week's movie news. Luckily, there hasn't been much going on. At least not much that I can see. StumbleUpon is a legitimate source for movie news, right?

This new pic of Guillermo del Toro’s film Pacific Rim sees Rinko Kikuchi look on in shock at Charlie Hunnam’s ridiculous codpiece.

MGM is now suing the producers of Raging Bull II, meaning that footage from the film will probably never be released and Tom Sizemore still won't be making a comeback any time soon.

Disney is rumoured to be developing a sequel to Hocus Pocus called Hocus Pocus 2: Rise of the Elderwitch. We probably have Harry Potter to thank for this or something.
I didn't realise how excited I was for the RoboCop remake until I saw this viral campaign video. New ED-209! You have 20 seconds to comply! I'll buy that for a dollar! Etc.

In the ongoing problem of the Jimi Hendrix biopic starring Andre '3000' Benjamin, the Hendrix estate is officially not allowing the film the rights to any of his songs. Luckily, Jimi covered a shitload of songs by other people so expect the film to contain lots of All Along The Watchtower and pretend that Purple Haze doesn't exist.

An official synopsis has been released for After Earth, the new Shyamalan film starring the father-and-son combo pack of Will and Jaden Smith. That’s right, the new Shyamalan film. This immediately renders your interest in the synopsis utterly redundant.

"In After Earth, one thousand years after cataclysmic events forced humanity’s escape from Earth, Nova Prime has become mankind’s new home. Legendary General Cypher Raige (played by Will Smith) returns from an extended tour of duty to his estranged family, ready to be a father to his 13-year-old son, Kitai (played by Jaden Smith). When an asteroid storm damages Cypher and Kitai’s craft, they crash-land on a now unfamiliar and dangerous Earth. As his father lies dying in the cockpit, Kitai must trek across the hostile terrain to recover their rescue beacon. His whole life, Kitai has wanted nothing more than to be a soldier like his father. Today, he gets his chance."

Peter Jackson posted the following picture and message on Facebook. He probably then put up a pic of a LOLcat, changed his status to something complaining about the weather and half-heartedly 'liked' a distant relative's wedding photo.

"We made it! Shoot day 266 and the end of principal photography on The Hobbit. Thanks to our fantastic cast and crew for getting us this far, and to all of you for your support! Next stop, the cutting room. Oh, and Comic Con! Cheers, Peter J"
Finally, talking of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, Entertainment Weekly have a bunch of new promo pics and stills from the film. I've posted some below but head here for their full gallery. I'm sure they need the hits.
