No to gay Holmes sequel

Andrea Plunket, US copyright holder for Sherlock Holmes literature, has threatened to withdraw permission for future movies if the Holmes-Watson bromoeroticism turns into full-on bromosexuality.

Her comments have come in reaction to a recent Letterman interview which saw Robert Downey Jr contemplating whether Holmes is a "very butch homosexual". Plunket was left thoroughly unamused.

"I hope this is just an example of Mr Downey's black sense of humour. It would be drastic, but I would withdraw permission for more films to be made if they feel that is a theme they wish to bring out in the future.

"I am not hostile to homosexuals, but I am to anyone who is not true to the spirit of the books."
Now, while Guy Ritchie took huge liberties with the main relationship in his unrealistically modern Sherlock Holmes, something tells me that he's not planning on having the two actually get it ohhhn in a sequel, especially if he wants to keep that PG-13 certificate.

I can only imagine Plunket's worst fear: a scene involving the two bromancers naked, some citrus fruit and Robert Downey Jr turning to the camera with a grin and saying, "Ah! A lemon entry, my dear Watson!"
