Sharlto Copley to play Howlin' Mad Murdock?

The offers come flooding in when you're riding high at the box office - if you believe the rumour (and frankly, we're not sold), Sharlto Copley is being lined up to star as Howlin' Mad Murdock in the new A-Team flick.

The District 9 star has been touted as a natural talent considering his complete lack of experience prior to Neill Blomkamp's low-budget alien smash-hit - but a part in The A-Team? Really?

It's juicy news, certainly but there are many reasons not to believe the rumour. Least of all, that gossip about Murdock's casting has been floating around for months now and includes everyone from Sam Rockwell to Steve Buscemi.

Plus, filming for The A-Team movie is due to start imminently (if indeed it hasn't already started) and 'confirmed' stars like Bradley Cooper as Face and Liam Neeson as Hannibal, still haven't been officially announced.

And while Copley surely surpassed expectations in District 9 and is, no doubt, set to be a huge star, he hasn't exactly proven himself to be capable of the kind of early Jim Carrey-esque antics of Murdock.

It's lies! Lies, I tell you!

Or... considering the rumour has come from the same source that revealed the all-but-signed-on Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson is to play BA Baracus, it just might be true.

And, although we only have one performance from which to judge his acting abilities, it was a hell of a performance. We'd take Copley over Chris Pine (also rumoured) in the role, any day.
