The Amazing Spider-Man amazing synopsis mystery

I know what you're thinking: nerdy kid gets bitten by super-spider, becomes Spider-Man. You've seen it a thousand times, so how could the synopsis possibly contain anything of any excitement whatsoever? Well come inside, for this is sure to get your spider-sense a-tingling.

Columbia Pictures released the official synopsis to The Amazing Spider-Man last week, whipping the interweb into a furore. But what's so exciting about an completely unnecessary Spider-Man reboot?

Answer: it contains a mystery. Have a read:

"The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker, an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben and Aunt May. Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy, and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets.
