Let Me In trailer: a vampire remake that doesn't suck?

The first trailer for the US remake of Let The Right One has emerged online, and ... er, it looks pretty ace, actually. See for yourself.
I'm in a unique, lofty position to comment on this remake of Let The Right One In: not only have I seen and loved the original, but I've actually read the book. (*pause for stunned silence*) The brilliance of the Swedish original has predisposed everyone to hate Matt Reeves' remake, but visually at least, Let Me In looks every bit as good.
Having just finished John Ajvide Lindqvist's novel, I was surprised at how much plot was left out (the character of Håkan sticks around for much longer) and at how graphic it was. As remakes generally mine the source material for ideas instead of the film, here's hoping the remake picks up some of the details left out of the original. And keeps the emo soundtrack to a minimum. Anyone who's appeared on the Twilight OST is unwelcome.
Of course, there's always the chance that Reeves is totally the wrong choice (the tagline 'From the director of Cloverfield' doesn't quite feel appropriate here) and it'll be a total disaster. In which case, I'm in the perfect position to begin my practiced whining. Let me try this one out:
"No, no, no. That wasn't Lindqvist's intention at all."
Life sure is fun up here in my ivory tower. You all look so small!
