I'll admit, straight out of the gate: Jack Kerouac's
On The Road is not one of the one-and-a-half books I have read. However, I don't think you need to be a 'reader' to recognise that the movie's poster quotes this far are frightfully pretentious and really quite naff. In fact, they could easily be confused with the words of homespun wisdom regularly dispensed by Wernham-Hogg regional manager, David Brent. Let's play a game!

I'm not quite old enough to have enjoyed The Muppet Show the first time around, so despite being a fan of Labyrinth and The Dark Crystal and all things Henson, I never really had Kermit and co as cultural touchstones growing up. However, even without that built-in base of nostalgia, I can wholeheartedly recommend The Muppets' big-screen comeback to moviegoers young, old and in between – I can't remember the last time I giggled so long and hard at such wanton silliness.

You may or may not have seen the first official image of Henry Cavill as Superman from The Man Of Steel this week.
Here it is. I won't be looking at it, or anything-else Superman-related for that matter, until its release in 2013, as part of a self-enforced Kryptonian diet – an experiment to experience a blockbuster knowing as little about it as possible.

We could keep up the pretence that this trailer for 'Green With Envy' isn't a viral campaign for
The Muppets, but it's Disney who are the deceptive party here, not us.

Here's another chance to read Matt's review of The Fighter, as it's out today. Boxing puns!
With Marky Mark's abs on full display in almost every scene, and Christian Bale going all skinny for his art once again, it's easy to see which one is meant to be the titular fighter - or is it? After all, Bale's character is the one struggling with drug addiction throughout the whole film so maybe he is the
metaphorical fighter? No, no, Marky Mark's wearing boxing gloves - it's definitely him.

Actor Matthew Goode has laid into his new movie a few days before it's even opened in cinemas. Like you were going to go and see it anyway.

Dear Amy Adams. Please do not appear in any more terrible romcoms. If you do not consider changing your course of action, I will be forced to stop stalking you. Yours, Mr X. P.S. You are almost out of mustard.

The easiest and most obvious comparison to make with Sunshine Cleaning is with Little Miss Sunshine - both films come from the same producers, both are feel-good indie comedies, both feature Alan Arkin as a world-weary granddad imparting his wisdom to a young 'un and, um... both have the word 'Sunshine' in the title. That'll do,...
