popular holidays, and now non-fiction books that guide expectant parents through pregnancy. You'll have noticed one constant thread running through the examples linked above: in being straightforward, cynical attempts to cash in on a popular phenomenon with a distinct target audience, they all dispensed with one key tenet of film production. Namely, the idea that you're supposed to at least
try to make a good one.

Oh god. Here's the first trailer from the Footloose remake, starring [reminder to find out chump's name from IMDB later] and Dennis Quaid. Why? Because those Sunday shoes won't kick off themselves!

Earth has depleted its resources and become over populated. The answer to this problem? Neuter the world's idiots? Nope - in Pandorum, the solution is to send a large group of cryogenically-frozen men and women into space, hurtling towards a newly found plant that can sustain life. Far less exciting an option, if you ask me.

Whether he wants to admit it or not, Roland Emmerich is fast becoming known as the 'Master of Disaster'. With titles like Independence Day and Godzilla under his belt, Emmerich is showing no signs of satisfaction and craves yet more destruction of major cities around the world (showing a particular dislike for New York).
