Dickie bows out: Rest in peace Richard Attenborough (1923-2014)
Movie News | Ali Gray | 24th August 2014
I was very sorry to hear about the sad passing of Lord Richard Attenborough this evening. Although I am fully aware his acting legacy extends back way beyond 1993, he'll always be Jurassic Park's creator John Hammond to me: my favourite character in my favourite movie ever. I wrote a little bit on what Attenborough brought to the role here, but I don't feel much like eulogising right now: I'm going to get busy knowing him better first. So long, Dickie, and thanks for all the dinosaurs.

This video of Jason Statham diving is the best thing he's ever done
Movie News | Ali Gray | 23rd July 2014
We all knew that action star Jason Statham was a former diver who represented Great Britain in the Commonwealth Games, but the BBC have unearthed the first footage of the actor performing a series of high dives – and he's not very good. I mean, he's obviously quite good, given that he's representing his country and everything, but the video shows Statham come close to bellyflopping, then appears dejected as the judges mark him poorly. Frankly, this is the most I've liked Jason Statham in years.

No one told Bruce Willis we're not doing casual Friday any more
Movie News | Ali Gray | 28th June 2014
We all know Bruce Willis stopped caring about his movies about two Die Hards ago, but he could at least have worn a shirt and tie for the poster shoot. The Prince gets minus poster points for the unnecessary helicopter and the mysterious sparks. Also because it looks like it was made in a lunch break. Which, coincidentally, is when Bruce Willis filmed his cameo.
