The five worst things about Dexter
TV Feature | Ed Williamson | 24th September 2013
My relationship with Dexter is much like that of the protagonist with his girlfriend in the Smokey Robinson song "You've Really Got a Hold on Me". She mistreats him constantly, but he keeps coming back for more without really knowing why. I watch Dexter every week, cringing at various aspects of the writing, then look forward to the next episode. I'm an idiot.

Eight or nine people who made careers off the back of Hollyoaks
TV Feature | Ed Williamson | 2nd September 2011
Just a few short years ago, Rupert Wyatt was but a man with a dream and a monkey fetish, eking out a living directing episodes of Hollyoaks. Now he's the director of the film of the Rise of the Planet of the Apes. See? You can go from The Dog in the Pond to untold fame and wealth.* Here are a few more people who did just that.

Catfish: season 4, episode 8 recap: "Whitney and Bre" aka "Catfish gets Catfished"
TV Feature | Becky Suter | 27th April 2015
The events in this week's episode are the reason why I have trust issues. It's no wonder Max took off for five weeks.

Interview: Joss Whedon talks Dr Horrible's Sing-Along Blog: Commentary! - The Musical
TV Feature | Matt Looker | 20th January 2020
Congratulations to everyone who read that thing I wrote last year about the brilliant, amazing burst of fruit flavour that is Commentary! The Musical - a musical commentary recorded for Dr Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. Well done to all of you who went on to not only watch the main feature, but also sought out the commentary, listened to all the songs and dialogue whilst reading the lyrics online, just as I suggested. Seeing it through makes each of you a huge fucking nerd (you’ll no doubt get that reference now). Achievement unlocked. Here’s me interviewing Joss Whedon about the whole thing.

Best TV Vampires
TV Feature | Alex Gregg | 3rd January 2011
Every horror fan, young or old, have their own perception of vampires. For me, if they’re not ‘bumpy’ in the forehead region with yellowing eyes, they just ain’t cutting it as a vampire. This is coming from a die-hard Buffy fan, unsurprisingly. Don’t get me wrong, there are plenty of TV vampires that still get me riled up…so, in an attempt to break away from my Buffster obsession, I have generously compiled a list of my favourite (and the best!) TV vampires.

Five shamefully horrid things Gary Barlow has recently done
TV Feature | Ed Williamson | 26th August 2011
We at are frankly sickened by what a nasty piece of work Gary Barlow has become of late. Why, it's almost as if an extremely lucrative job he recently secured requires him to pretend to be thoroughly unpleasant.

Top 10 TV shows of 2014
TV Feature | Ed Williamson, Rob Young, Christopher Ratcliff, Iain Robertson, Ali Gray, Luke Whiston | 31st December 2014
What's that? No, there never used to be 20 shows in our end-of-year lists. You're imagining things. OK, maybe that's partially true. Fine, it's entirely true. But trust me, this is a bold new way of doing the traditional yearly round-up, and in no sense a way for me to spend more time eating cake and less time writing over Christmas.

Interview with Bryan Cranston: no big deal, happens all the time
TV Feature | Ed Williamson | 16th October 2012
Bryan Cranston's performance as Walter White in Breaking Bad is one of the best in the history of television. And as it turns out, he's a stand-up guy too: warm, funny and happy to answer questions. Oh, and he laughed at something I said. I'm brilliant.

Catfish: season 4, episode 13 recap: "Falesha and Jacqueline"
TV Feature | Becky Suter | 26th July 2015
This week, Nasa's announced the discovery of Kepler452b, or "Earth 2.0", a "habitable" planet that orbits a star similar to our sun and may even have water. If you've ever seen the excellent film Another Earth, you'll be aware of the theory of a parallel Earth, which is identical to ours in every way. There could be another you, but one who took a different direction in life; another version of you who risked taking chances. What if you managed to find a way there and killed off the other version of you, taking on their life? What if they tried to come here and were jealous of your life? Essentially, the boffins have discovered a planet full of potential catfish, ready to take on your life at a moment's notice and start saying all sort of shit about you, and no one would be any the wiser.

Breaking Babble
TV Feature | Ed Williamson, Matt Looker, Ali Gray, Luke Whiston | 2nd October 2013
We did a quick look round the internet the other day and realised that practically no one is writing anything about Breaking Bad. Way to drop the ball, other websites: it's a pretty big deal, you know! Lucky you've got us around to discuss the face off it. (Spoilers all over the place, obviously.)
